Ikenai Taiyou
Winter is coming finally. Every year around this time, winter comes back and gives me some nostalgia.
This year I saw HanaKimi come back to Netflix, and a few days later I saw its OST, Ikenai Taiyo by ORANGE RANGE (one of my favorite Japanese bands) performed live on The First Take. They even made a Reiwa version of the MV.
If you’ve never heard of ORANGE RANGE, they made some famous songs for Naruto (Viva rock), Bleach (Asterisk) and theme song for a Japanese movie Be With You (Hana), based on a novel by one of my favorite author Takuji Ichiwaka.
It brings me back to the 2000s, when we were still using flip/dumb phones, berely saw an iPhone, no one have any idea what Bitcoin was, Facebook wasn’t a thing yet. I still had my Nintendo DS Lite and we were just kids watching J-dramas together in the college lobby on cold, rainy days, enjoying endless, carefree time
I’ve realized that when older people say their era was good, it’s not because things were better in the past, but because the things they saw, heard and experienced during those years remain in their memories as precious things that can’t be replaced by anything else
I’m old AF, I want to see my inner Nakatsu once more…
